AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The members of FODIS are currently fund raising with respect to two specific objectives:

Environmental Education & Play: To improve facilities and opportunities to support environmental education and play.
ICT and Learning Resources: To significantly increase the level of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and learning resources available within the school.

The more specific aims associated with these objectives are presented below.


WORKING TOGETHER

FODIS has begun to fund raise through school events, company sponsorship and applications to funding organisations. Working together with the Home School Association (WARNING! URL CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE) --- our Parent Teacher group --- children, governors and the local community, we aim to encourage wide involvement in our plans and improvements.

Dovedale Infants shares its site with Dovedale Juniors and FODIS will work with the Junior School to integrate our activities. We will also use the available expertise of parents, teachers and the local community for practical improvements and fund raising.

Environmental Education & Play ICT and Learning Resources
  1. To work with children, teachers, and parents in planning and designing a quality environmental and safe play resource in the school playground.
  2. To increase opportunities for outdoor learning, physical recreation and creative play within the national curriculum.
  3. To involve, where possible, local community groups and businesses to create a greater shared ownership of the school.
  1. To Improve Information Communication Technology and learning resources for education and as a preparation for adulthood.
  2. To introduce a computer into every classroom and improve multimedia studies.
  3. To establish a dedicated library to support these new resources.
